A Healthier You Day 8
Stop boiling eggs in noodles and rice. Salmonella isn’t your friend.
What Is ‘Salmonella’?
Salmonella is a group of not-so-friendly bacteria found in eggs and other animal and farm products. Chickens can carry Salmonella and pass them on to their eggs.
Consequently, most eggs that are not in-shell pasteurized are likely to have Salmonella on them and should be stored in a cool and hygienic manner. You should also clean every surface – including your hands – that comes in contact with raw eggs to avoid contamination.
Symptoms of Salmonella Infection
Salmonella infection has symptoms like vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal cramps, and fever. But they usually subside in less than a week after infection.
Yes, hot water kills Salmonella. But would you drink the water in which you boil your eggs (if you boiled them separately)? So why then would you cook raw eggs in the same pot as your meal?
Great job you are doing meb.
I am learning alot here. Thank you.
Thank you so much Gracie!!
